BLUES VS. GOLDEN KNIGHTS

THE MATCHUP

BLUES The St. Louis Blues played a solid road game on Wednesday night in Chicago, limiting the Blackhawks to just 19 shots on goal, but it was the offense that sputtered this time around.
Chicago won the game 1-0 on a power-play goal from Brent Seabrook, snapping a long winless streak.
"We had some opportunities, I thought we had some real good looks tonight that we didn't capitalize on, whether missing the net or just not converting," Blues Head Coach Mike Yeo said. "It's disappointing. It was another pretty solid road game… We just have to find ways to win right now, that's what it comes down to…. When you're limiting your opponents opportunities and you're playing a pretty sound checking game, now we just have to get the offense back in order and we'll start putting the wins together."
The Blues recalled Sammy Blais from the San Antonio Rampage on Thursday afternoon and he will play Friday. Brayden Schenn will also return after missing four games with an upper-body injury.
Pat Maroon sustained an upper-body injury Wednesday and won't play in the remaining games
on the road trip. He was sent to St. Louis for further evaluation.

GOLDEN KNIGHTS Marc-Andre Fleury pitched a 29-save shutout on Wednesday night against the Ducks, helping the Golden Knights to a 5-0 win at T-Mobile Arena.
It was Fleury's League-leading third shutout of the season.
Before Wednesday, the Golden Knights had lost two straight and five of their last seven.
"It was a step in the right direction," Golden Knights forward Cody Eakin said after the game. Eakin scored twice in the win. "I thought a lot of times we were gripping our sticks real tight or over back checking and over-pressuring, leaving guys open (in recent games). It was a step in the right direction and we'll look to build on it."
"Tonight we had a lot to smile about," added Alex Tuch. "It was a great team win, a great team effort."
HEAD-TO-HEAD The Blues beat the Golden Knights 5-3 in the first meeting between the teams this season on Nov. 1 at Enterprise Center. The Blues have points in all four games against Vegas, going 2-0-2 since the Golden Knights debuted last season.
The Blues rank eighth in the NHL, averaging 3.25 goals-per-game this season. Vegas ranks 10th with 2.79 goals-per-game.
