Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo is on a career-high nine game point streak, scoring three goals and 10 assists over a span dating back to the Jan. 3 game vs. Phoenix.

With a point in Monday's game at Detroit, Pietrangelo would tie a Blues franchise record for most consecutive games with a point for a defenseman. The record is currently held by Jeff Brown and was set during the 1992-93 season.

"If you're a Blues fan, you're watching the emergence of a really good player," Blues Head Coach Ken Hitchcock said recently. "There's not many defenseman where you can say this guy's got a chance to be a (No. 1 guy). He's got a chance to be a No. 1."

Pietrangelo, 22, has played in 46 games season, recording eight goals and 16 assists (24 points). He ranks 16th overall in the NHL with a plus-18 rating.
