Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo
was selected by The Hockey News as the No. 1 NHL prospect in it's Future Watch 2010 feature.
According to Brian Costello of THN, 23 NHL scouts or Directors of Player Personnel participated in the selection and ranked prospects from 1-50. Pietrangelo was first on four ballots while seven other voters had him in the top four.
Drafted in the first round (4th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Pietrangelo has played in 17 NHL games, recording 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists). He has a plus/minus rating of -9 and has recorded 6 penalty minutes.
Pietrangelo is currently playing for the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League. In 22 games played, he has 7 goals and 19 assists for 26 ponts. He is a +17 and has 23 penalty minutes.
