Blues prospect Scott Perunovich and University of Minnesota-Duluth claimed their second consecutive national championship on Saturday. The Bulldogs took the title with a 3-0 win over University of Massachusetts.
A sophomore at UMD, Perunovich was drafted by the Blues in the second round (45th overall) at the 2018 NHL Draft. He posted a +1 rating with one shot on goal and two penalty minutes in the title game. UMD is the first team to repeat as champs since Denver in 2004 & 2005.
On Friday it was announced Perunovich was awarded All-American second team honors. He was also previously named to the All-NCHC first team. Perunovich finished the regular season with 29 points (3g, 26a).
