St. Louis Blues prospect Scott Perunovich has been named the 2020 Jim Johannson College Player of the Year by USA Hockey.

The award is presented annually to the top American player in NCAA Division I.

Perunovich, who finished his junior season as a defenseman for the University of Minnesota Duluth, had already claimed the Hobey Baker Memorial Award in April, which is awarded to the top college hockey player regardless of birthplace.

Perunovich registered six goals and 34 assists (40 points) in 34 games last season, ranking second in points amongst defenseman in the NCAA.

Perunovich was selected by the Blues in the second round (No. 45 overall) in the 2018 NHL Draft. He agreed to a two-year entry-level contract with the Blues in March.
