BUFFALO - David Perron might have shed a few tears in warm-ups Saturday, but who could blame him?
It had been 57 days since Perron had played a game due to an ongoing upper-body injury.

"I shed a few tears for some reason in warm-ups," Perron told reporters after a 5-1 win against the Penguins. "I was just too excited to be out there and that kind of took the stress away from me there. I just played after that. I've never had that before, but what's kind of what happened.
"(It was) just joy to be back on the ice."

Perron gets emotional in warm-ups

Perron had missed 24 games with an upper-body injury before returning Saturday in Pittsburgh. Prior to the injury, Perron had a personal-best 13-game point streak, recording six goals and 10 assists in that span.
In Saturday's win, he recorded an assist on Vince Dunn's first-period goal to extend his streak to 14 games.
