ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues defenseman Colton Parayko was named to the 2016 NHL All-Rookie team following the NHL Awards on Wednesday night in Las Vegas.
Parayko joins Edmonton's Connor McDavid, Chicago's Artemi Panarin, Buffalo's Jack Eichel, Philadelphia's Shayne Gostisbehere and Anaheim's John Gibson.
Voting was conducted by the Professional Hockey Writers Association at the end of the regular season.
Parayko ranked second among rookie defensemen in goals (9), assists (24) and points (33) while appearing in 79 games. He led all rookie skaters with a +28 rating, which ranked fifth in the entire League and set a franchise rookie record.
The 23-year-old St. Albert, Alta native is St. Louis' second consecutive All-Rookie team selection, following goalie Jake Allen in 2014-15.
Parayko also finished eighth in Calder Trophy voting as the NHL's rookie of the year.
