ST. LOUIS - When you play seven seasons and 443 games with one franchise, it’s natural to get a little emotional when you come back for the first time.
T.J. Oshie is no exception to that rule.
Saturday marked Oshie’s first trip to St. Louis since being traded to the Washington Capitals last summer in exchange for Troy Brouwer, goalie prospect Pheonix Copley and a third round draft choice. At a stoppage in play during the first period, the Blues played a 90-second video tribute that brought fans to their feet as a way of saying thank you to their former Blue.
Oshie had a huge smile on his face as he stood to salute the St. Louis crowd. Press PLAY on the video above to see the moment following the tribute.
“(There were) a lot of positives from being here, a lot of life-long friends," Oshie said of playing in St. Louis. "Fans seemed like they supported me extremely, extremely well, even from before I got here and through to now. I'm very grateful for my time here, lot of really important people, lot of important role models that I met here that have guided me to where I am now."
