by Chris Pinkert / St. Louis Blues

ST. LOUIS - Another game, another injury.

Blues forward Jori Lehtera was hit in the face with a puck in the first period Thursday night against the New York Rangers. Lehtera left the game with just 5 minutes, 16 seconds of ice time and did not return.

The Blues are already without injured players Alexander Steen, Alex Pietrangelo, Steve Ott and Brian Elliott.

“Adversity hit us in the chin in the first period,” Blues forward Scottie Upshall said after the game. “Again, our lines are all messed up and we’re having to double shift guys. It’s tough, but it’s the game. We’ve got to have guys step up and take on more opportunity and more roles and seize them. We’re all going to have to pull this together and turn it around.

“We’ve faced injuries all year, but we’ve got the character and the team in here to battle through it and get things done,” Upshall added. “It’s just another bump in the road, but we’ll be alright.”
