ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues radio play-by-play broadcaster Chris Kerber was awarded the Burnes/Broeg Award for broadcast excellence at the 46th MAC Jack Buck Sports Awards on Wednesday.
Previous winners of the award include Dan Dierdorf (2014), Joe Buck (2012), Bernie Miklasz (2009), Ron Jacober (2007), Mike Shannon (2006), Rick Hummel and Bob Costas (1999).
Kerber is in his 16th season as the play-by-play voice of the Blues on KMOX 1120 AM and also serves as the team’s VP of Broadcasting and Content Development. In addition to calling all Blues regular and postseason games, Kerber hosts pregame and postgame shows, player and coach programs as well as organizes fan activities to promote Blues hockey.
Originally named the MAC Sports' Personality of the Year Dinner, the Jack Buck Sports Awards were renamed on Dec. 10, 2002 in honor of legendary broadcaster Jack Buck, who served as the Master of Ceremony for the first 32 years.
