The St. Louis Blues open the 2008-09 season on Friday, Oct. 10, and fans will celebrate the return of hockey at the annual Blues Home Opener Rally prior to opening faceoff. The Rally, presented by Fox Sports Midwest and Bud Light, takes place outside Scottrade Center on Friday from 5-7 p.m.
All Blues fans are encouraged to participate in the rally, which features live music from local band Coldshot, prizes and concessions. Blues television announcers John Kelly and Bernie Federko, along with Blues executives and players, will lead the rally from the stage at approximately 6:45 p.m. Blues owner Dave Checketts and team President John Davidson are expected to participate.
Festivities will be held outside Scottrade Center on Clark Avenue, adjacent to the parking garage. The rally is free and open to the public.
Opening faceoff for Friday’s season opener between the Blues and Nashville Predators is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with pregame festivities starting at 7:15 p.m. Fox Sports Midwest will televise the game in high definition, with the Blues Live pregame show beginning at 6:30 p.m. The pregame show will include live coverage of the rally.
