Injuries have caused a major impact on the St. Louis Blues this year, contributing to 183 total man-games lost just after the midway point in the 2022-23 season.
Marco Scandella and Scott Perunovich have missed the full season up to this point, while Torey Krug, Ryan O'Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko were placed on injured reserve along with Robert Bortuzzo and Logan Brown within the last month.
According to Head Coach Craig Berube, however, several of these key players are making progress and could be close to returning to the ice.

"(We're) getting all those guys back in our group a little bit," Berube said after Thursday's morning skate. "Certain guys can do more than others, but they're all making progress. Some of them are getting close."
Tarasenko has been skating with the team this week and, though has not given Berube a specific return date, is confident in his rehabilitation progress on his hand injury. Tarasenko is still expected to attend 2023 NHL All-Star Weekend as the Blues' representative in South Florida from Feb. 3-4.
"(Tarasenko) is doing well," Berube said. "He's getting closer and closer."
Krug - missing the last 11 games with a lower-body injury - has returned to skating recently as well and was excited to join his teammates and make strides towards playing again.
"I feel good - a lot better and quicker than I expected," said Krug. "I'm just excited about getting back out there... I try to push it every day so I can get back and help the team."
Scandella, Perunovich, Bortuzzo and Brown have all been skating with the team, with Perunovich recently cleared for light contact.
"Light. Light. Light," emphasized Berube as the young defenseman eases back to play following shoulder surgery.
Though it remains to be seen when exactly these injured Blues will make their returns to NHL play, Berube and the training staff are confident in their progress and are encouraged by their strides thus far.
