ST. LOUIS - Everything is better with bacon.

And that includes Blues hockey, apparently.

Last night, just minutes after David Backes tied the game at 5-5 with 34 seconds remaining in the second period, we uploaded a photo to our Instagram account with the caption: "Well that was something. #OurBlues roar bacon with three second-period goals to tie the game 5-5. #STLvsCHI."

We meant to say "roar back," but iPhone's autocorrect got the best of us.

As it turns out, roar bacon tastes pretty sweet.

Vladimir Tarasenko's goal with 1:06 left in overtime capped off a huge come-from-behind 6-5 victory against the defending Stanley Cup Champions, and #RoarBacon became a national trending topic on Twitter. Less than 30 minutes after the game, #RoarBacon even had it's own Twitter account!

St. Louis - I think we have our new rally squirrel.

Regardless of how far this goes (breakfast items at Scottrade Center? T-shirts in the True Blues Team Store?), we're just happy Alexander Steen, Backes, Tarasenko and the boys brought home the bacon.
