ST. LOUIS - Although the Blues collected four of a possible six points on a difficult road trip to Denver, Anaheim and Los Angeles last week, it didn’t come without a price.
In a two-game span, the Blues lost Paul Stastny, Jake Allen, Jay Bouwmeester, Carl Gunnarsson and Magnus Paajarvi to injury.
Blues Head Coach Ken Hitchcock said those players would be evaluated Monday in St. Louis and promised updates on each after practice.
Here's the latest from the Head Coach:
As a result of the injuries, the Blues have recalled defenseman Chris Butler and Ty Rattie under emergency conditions from the Chicago Wolves. In addition, goalie Jordan Binnington was recalled Saturday.
"It's been that type of season. We've battled through this thing and nobody feels sorry for us in the League," Hitchcock said after practice. "We've got to get points, we've got to finish this thing strong. We're lucky we get a nice week-long break at the All-Star break, which will add healing time. But in the meantime, we've got seven games to play and we've got to get points."
