ST. LOUIS -- The San Jose Sharks defeated the St. Louis Blues 6-3 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final at Scottrade Center on Monday.
San Jose leads the best-of-7 series 3-2. Game 6 is at SAP Center on Wednesday (9 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports); the Sharks can clinch a spot in the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in their history.

Here is a look inside the in-game and in-series matchup between Sharks forward Tomas Hertl and Blues forward Robby Fabbri:
Goals: Hertl 0; Fabbri 1
Assists: Hertl 1; Fabbri 0
Points: Hertl 1; Fabbri 1
Ice time: Hertl 15:00; Fabbri 16:59

Key intangible stat: Hertl has turned it on in this series after not scoring much in the first two rounds. He came into the Western Conference Final with two goals and three assists against the Los Angeles Kings and Nashville Predators, but against the Blues, Hertl has three goals and an assist in five games. Hertl's assist came on the go-ahead goal by Joe Pavelski 16 seconds into the third period of Game 5.
Best moment: Fabbri wasn't confirmed to play in Game 5 until warmups after sitting out most of the third period in Game 4 on Saturday with an undisclosed injury. He slotted back in on Monday and was crucial for the Blues. Fabbri's best moment came at 11:58 of the second period when he unleashed a slapshot from long distance that beat Martin Jones to give the Blues a 3-2 lead. The goal came on the power play after an ill-advised roughing penalty by Sharks defenseman Roman Polak.
Series stat line (goals-assists-points): Hertl (3-1-4); Fabbri (1-1-2).
