Game Notes - Blues 4, Jets 3

  • The Blues erased a 3-1 deficit to capture their third win over the Jets this season.  They improved to 6-0-2 all-time at MTS Center
  • St. Louis dispatched both of Winnipeg's power play attempts, extending their perfect penalty killing streak to nine games (21 for 21) and improving their League-leading kill rate to 87.9%
  • Vladimir Tarasenko logged his 19th goal (t-2nd overall) and added two assists for his first three-point game of the season. Tarasenko extended his goal/point streak to three games (3g, 2a) and he now has multiple points in each of his three outings against the Jets this season (4g, 3a)
  • Alexander Steen netted his 11th goal (first on the power play) and added his 17th and 18th assists for his first three-point game of the season.  The Winnipeg native now has eight points (2g, 6a) over his last six games overall and eight points, including four goals, in seven career games at MTS Centre
  • Paul Stastny scored his third goal which also proved to be his second game-winner this season.  Stastny leads the Blues and shares 7th overall with nine regular season game-winning goals since joining the team last season
  • Jake Allen stopped 33 shots, marking his second-highest save total of the season.  Allen improved to 6-2-1 (.722) in nine road decisions this season - the 8th best road win percentage amongst goalies with at least five road starts.
  • Troy Brouwer scored the Blues' first goal - his sixth of the season.  Each of Brouwer's last three goals have come on the road and he now has 125 road points for his career
  • Kevin Shattenkirk notched two assists extending his assist/point streak to five games (1g, 6a).  Shattenkirk has recorded a point in 15 of his 19 games since returning from injury on Nov. 7 (4g, 14a) and ranks 4th amongst all defensemen in scoring since then
  • David Backes extended his season-long point streak to five games (3g, 3a) with an assist on Brouwer's goal.  Backes has averaged 0.88 points per game average in December after sharing posting a 0.50 mark from the beginning of the season to Nov. 30.
Blues Milestones
  • Jay Bouwmeester dressed in his 200th game as a Blue
  • David Backes' assist was the 240th of his career which tied Red Berenson for 8th on the Blues' all-time franchise list
