Game Notes- October 31, 2015

  • The Blues snapped a three-game losing streak to the Wild (reg + postseason) and moved to within one point of Dallas for the top spot in the Central Division and the Western Conference overall
  • David Backes scored his first two goals of the season (19th career multi-goal game), including the game-winner in overtime which gave the Blues their first-ever three-on-three overtime victory.  Backes’ second goal was his 23rd career game-winner and he now sits one shy of Brendan Shanahan for 11th on the all-time franchise list
  • Jake Allen made 29 saves for his third consecutive home win, improving his career record at Scottrade Center to 19-6-1.  Allen’s .750 career win percentage at Scottrade Center is the second best in NHL history behind only Curtis Joseph’s .790 (24-6-1) career mark (minimum 20 starts)
  • Alexander Steen grabbed his 5th goal of the season.  He has three points (2g, 1a) in two games against the Wild this season
  • Ty Rattie notched the primary assist on Backes’ overtime winner and now has assists in consecutive games for the first time in his NHL career-Jay Bouwmeester posted his third assist of the year and led all skaters with a +2 rating
