Game Notes - Blues 3, Stars 2 (SO)
  • The Blues outlasted the Stars in a shootout that went a franchise record-tying nine rounds.  David Backes buried the game-winning shootout tally, his first career shootout goal on five attempts
  • Robby Fabbri tied the game at two with just under two minutes remaining in regulation.  Fabbri now has a  goal in three consecutive games and shares 7th amongst all rookies with eight goals on the season
  • Alexander Steen logged his second power play goal and 12th goal overall.  Steen, who has led Blues forwards in power play points in each of the previous two seasons, now shares 12th overall with 13 power play points (2g, 11a) in 2015-16
  • Jay Bouwmeester and David Backes got the assists on Fabbri’s game-tying goal.  Both Bouwmeester and Backes have assists in back-to-back games
  • Kevin Shattenkirk earned the primary assist on Steen’s goal, and now shares 4th amongst all defensemen with 11 power play helpers this season (1. Erik Karlsson, 13)
  • Vladimir Tarasenko notched an assist, extending his point streak to a career-high eight games (6g, 6a).  Tarasenko’s streak began on Dec. 12 and since that point he has led the NHL in scoring, while overall, he shares 4th with 39 points (22g, 17a).  Tarasenko is the second Blue to have points in at least eight consecutive games this season, joining Kevin Shattenkirk (Nov. 14 – 28)
  • The Blues fired 37 shots which tied for their third-most in a home game this season.  Tarasenko led the club with seven shots on goal and 13 attempts overall (five blocked, one missed)
