Game Notes - Blues 3, Avalanche 4 (OT)
  • Vladimir Tarasenko celebrated his All-Star selection with a goal and an assist.  The goal was his 24th of the season, tying Jamie Benn for the overall League lead.  Tarasenko has points in three consecutive games (2g, 2a), bringing him to 43 for the season, which ranks fourth overall
  • David Backes kept the Blues power play hot, logging his 11th goal of the season and fourth with the man advantage.  Three of Backes' last four tallies have come on the power play and he now has 54 such goals for his career, moving him past Red Berenson and into sole possession of eighth on the all-time franchise list
  • Backes also posted a season-high seven shots on goal - three more than he's had in any other game this season
  • The Blues have converted on the power play in four straight games which is their second longest stretch of the season (longest: five games from Dec. 10 - 17)
  • Patrik Berglund scored his first goal of the season in his second game back from a right shoulder injury.  It was his eighth career goal against the Avs, which ties for his third-highest total against any team
  • Paul Stastny grabbed his 15th assist of the year, extending his assist streak to a season-high five games.  Stastny is now one game shy of tying his career-long assist streak of six games, which he’s done twice before, including most recently from Jan. 9-24, 2010
  • Jori Lehtera's assist was his 12th of the year and gave him three helpers over his last five games
  • Alex Pietrangelo's assist was his 14th of the year and gave him three helpers over his last five games.  Pietrangelo also recorded a season-high six shots on goal
