  • The Blues snapped a five-game losing streak, while they won for the first time in their last 12 visits to Staples Center (reg. + postseason)
  • The Blues' penalty killers dispatched all four LA attempts and the club improved to 18-7-2 when keeping the oppositions power play scoreless this season
  • Brian Elliott made 26 saves and stopped six of seven shootout attempts in the win.  Elliott has gone 1-2-2 over his last five road appearances, including a 1.67 goals against average and a .948 save percentage. 
  • In addition, Elliott has gone 1-0-2 with a 0.31 goals against average, a .988 save percentage (stopped 81 of 82) and two shutouts in his last three starts at Staples Center
  • Alex Pietrangelo logged his third goal of the year, extending his point streak to a season-high tying three games (1g, 2a).  Pietrangelo now has seven points (3g, 4a) in 10 career games at Staples Center
  • Troy Brouwer buried the game-deciding shootout goal for the Blues.  Four of his five career shootout goals have been game-enders
  • Vladimir Tarasenko notched an assist, giving him five points (2g, 3a) over his last five games.  Tarasenko now has 24 goals and 20 assists for the season, making him one of four 20-20 players thus far (Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, Patrick Kane)
  • Robert Bortuzzo served nine penalty minutes, including five for fighting with LA's Luke Schenn
  • Carl Gunnarsson left the game with an upper-body injury in the second period and did not return
