Elliott Moves into Second in Blues Shutouts

by Chris Pinkert / St. Louis Blues

With a shutout X against X, Blues goaltender Brian Elliott has taken over second place on the Blues all-time shutout list.

Elliott made X saves Xday for his 17th shutout as a member of the Blues, which passes Glenn Hall for second in franchise history.

Overall, it was Elliott’s 26th career shutout.

According to Elias Sports Bureau, Elliott is the fifth-quickest goalie to the NHL’s modern era to reach the 25-shutout milestone (209 starts).

Only four goaltenders needed fewer starts to reach the mark: Tony Esposito (134), Terry Sawchuk (152), Roman Cechmanek (185) and Jacques Plante (187).

This season, Elliott has played in (UPDATE STATS) 28 games, posting a 17-5-2 record to go along with a 1.97 goals-against average, a .921 save percentage and four shutouts.

Only Jaroslav Halak (20) has more shutouts as a Blue than Elliott.
