HAZELWOOD - Brian Elliott said he is "totally fine" despite leaving practice early on Wednesday.
Reports from the team's practice facility indicated that Elliott might have been hurt after taking a shot during Wednesday's optional skate, but the Blues goaltender told stlouisblues.com there is nothing to be concerned about.
"Totally fine. It happens every day in practice, you're always taking shots," Elliott said. "You get off the ice and you start hearing from people in Canada who think you're hurt. With all the injuries we have, people get a little sensitive, but I'm all good and ready to go for tomorrow."
Since the All-Star break, Elliott is 12-1-1 with a 1.74 goals-against average, .938 save-percentage and four shutouts.
The Blues will meet the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and can clinch home-ice advantage in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with one point.
