Broadcasters Predict Stanley Cup Final

by Staff Writer / St. Louis Blues

Blues broadcasters took a few minutes recently to give their picks and predictions for the 2013 Stanley Cup Final between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins.

Each broadcaster's prediction and reasoning is listed below.

The Stanley Cup Final begins on Wednesday, June 12. For a complete series schedule, visit

John Kelly - TV Play-by-Play
Boston Bruins in 6
Why: The Bruins have the perfect combination of size, grit and skill.

Darren Pang - TV Color Analyst
Pick: Boston Bruins in 7
Why: Zdeno Chara defends the entire left side of the ice, which protects Tuukka Rask from Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane.
Bernie Federko - TV Analyst
Pick: Chicago Blackhawks in 7
Why: Home-ice advantage means a lot and I believe in the Western Conference. The Presidents' Trophy means something.

Chris Kerber - Radio Play-by-Play
Pick: Chicago Blackhawks in 7
Why: Boston has a Western Conference-type team, but Chicago is more prepared to play that style of hockey than Boston is.

Kelly Chase - Radio Color Analyst
Pick: Chicago Blackhawks in 6
Why: Because Mike Kitchen deserves a Stanley Cup.
