ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has activated defenseman Jay Bouwmeester from injured reserve.
In addition, the Blues placed defenseman Carl Gunnarsson on IR.
Bouwmeester, 31, has dressed in 20 games this season, posting two points (one goal, one assist) and eight penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4, 212-pound defenseman has missed the past eight games with a lower-body injury, ending his 737-game iron man streak, which stands as the fifth longest in NHL history.
The Edmonton, Alberta native was originally acquired by the Blues from Calgary on April 1, 2013.
