Bouwmeester activated from injured reserve

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has activated defenseman Jay Bouwmeester from injured reserve.
Bouwmeester has missed the past nine games due to a lower-body injury.

In addition, the Blues assigned defenseman Jordan Schmaltz to the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.
Bouwmeester, 34, has dressed in 10 games for the Blues this season, posting one goal, one assist and a plus-6 rating. The 6-foot-4, 206-pound defenseman is currently in his sixth season with the Blues after the team acquired him via trade on April 1, 2013.
Overall, the Edmonton, Alberta native has appeared in 1,081 career regular season games, recording 393 points (83 goals, 310 assists) and 559 penalty minutes.

Schmaltz, 24, has appeared in four games for the Blues this season, serving four penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound defenseman has also dressed in 24 games for the Rampage, leading the team's defense with 19 points (five goals, 14 assists).
A native of Madison, Wisconsin Schmaltz was originally drafted by the Blues in the first round (25th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
