Pietrangelo was selected with the Blues' first round pick (4th overall) in 2008.
ST. LOUIS –- St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has signed 2008 first round selection Alex Pietrangelo.

Pietrangelo, 18, a native of King City, Ontario, finished last season seventh among all OHL defensemen in scoring with 53 points (13 goals, 40 assists), playing for the Niagara Ice Dogs.
He participated in the 2008 OHL All-Star Classic and the 2008 CHL Top Prospects Game.
Pietrangelo played his first OHL season with the Mississauga Ice Dogs of the OHL, collecting 52 points (seven goals, 45 assists) in 59 games played.
