ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed defenseman Colton Parayko to a two-year entry level contract.
Parayko has been assigned to the Blues’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Chicago Wolves.
Parayko, 21, has spent the past three seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. This season, the 6-foot-4, 224-pound defenseman appeared in 34 games and ranked third on the club with 23 points, including six goals and 17 assists.
In 2013-14, he was named a WCHA First Team All-Star while earning the League’s Defensive Player of the Year honors. In addition, he was chosen as a NCAA Second Team All-American.
Overall, Parayko dressed in 104 collegiate games, accumulating 66 points, including 17 goals and 49 assists.
The St. Albert, Alberta, native was originally drafted by the Blues in the third round, 86th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
