Blues Release 2010-11 Season Schedule

ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Blues and the National Hockey League have released the 2010-11 regular season schedule.

The Blues will open the regular season with consecutive home games on Saturday, Oct. 9 vs. the defending Eastern Conference Champion Philadelphia Flyers and Monday, Oct. 11 vs. the Anaheim Ducks before embarking on a three-game road trip starting on Oct. 14 in Nashville. The Blues will have a fan friendly schedule for the upcoming season that consists of 20 home games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“Once again we have filled our home schedule to include plenty of weekend games with many great match-ups at Scottrade Center this season,” said CEO of St. Louis Blues Enterprises, Peter McLoughlin.

St. Louis will play six games (three home and three away) against each of its four fellow members of the Central Division in the Western Conference: Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Detroit Red Wings, and Nashville Predators and will play four games (two home and two away) against each of its remaining Western Conference opponents.

Six of the eight Eastern Conference 2009-10 playoff teams will visit Scottrade Center this season. Sidney Crosby and the 2009 Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins travel to St. Louis on Saturday, Oct. 23 while 2008 and 2009 MVP Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals come to town on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

In addition, the Blues will host the Carolina Hurricanes, Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils and Ottawa Senators and the three teams from the East that the Blues will play a home-and-home set against include the Atlanta Thrashers, New York Rangers and Washington.

Among the other highlights on the 2010-11 schedule:

  • St. Louis will have six Friday, 12 Saturday and two Sunday home games.
  • The Blues host a five-game holiday homestand from Dec. 23-Jan. 2 including a game against the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks.
  • St. Louis will play 10 home games in the month of December, the most home games they have played in any month in franchise history.
  • The Blues will host Anaheim on Monday, Oct. 11 at 1:00 p.m. (Columbus Day) and Chicago on Monday, Feb. 21 at 1:00 p.m. (Presidents Day).
