ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals are teaming up to host One Nation Classic, a closing ceremonies event to the 2017 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, on Sunday, January 8 at Busch Stadium.

The event will kick-off at 11:30 a.m. with Blues players competing in a skills competition for locker room bragging rights. Immediately following, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Blues Owner Tom Stillman and Cardinals Owner Bill DeWitt III will face off as team captains in St. Louis' Greatest Pick-Up Hockey Game featuring teams made up of Blues & Cardinals alumni, as well as other local celebrities and team owners. A complete list of celebrities will be announced on December 16. A game pitting local police officers against local fire fighters will follow at approximately 2:15 p.m.

"We are excited to be teaming up with the Blues to produce a family oriented event as we cap off an exciting week of hockey at Busch Stadium," said Cardinals President Bill DeWitt III. "The One Nation Classic promises to be a fun, affordable way for familites to experience the excitement surrounding the Winter Classic while also helping children in our community."

General admission tickets for the event are $10 each and can be purchased online beginning Tuesday, December 13 at 10 a.m. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the Busch Stadium Box Office beginning January 3 through the day of the event. All proceeds from One Nation Classic will benefit Blues for Kids youth hockey efforts and Cardinals Care.

Fans will also have the opportunity to skate on the ice during public skate sessions throughout the day. A limited number of skate passes will be available for $50 each and must be purchased in advance. A maximum of four passes can be purchased per person. Skate passes include skate rentals, a commemorative One Nation Classic puck and a ticket to the closing ceremonies event. Skate pass purchasers will also have the opportunity to purchase one additional field pass per person for family members and friends to access the field during assigned public skate sessions. Field passes are $10 each and include access to the closing ceremonies event as well.

One Nation Classic skate passes can be purchased online.

About Cardinals Care (#CardsCare)
Cardinals Care was established to give fans a way of teaming up with Cardinals players and the organization to help children in our community-both on and off the baseball field. Established in 1997, Cardinals Care has invested over $21 million to support St. Louis area children and built 21 youth ball fields in local under-resourced neighborhoods. Most recently, the Cardinals dedicated Adam Wainwright Field at Bob Russell Park in August 2016. This season marked the 13th year of Cardinals Care's innovative Redbird Rookies program, a free baseball league for kids who otherwise might not have the opportunity to play. In addition to providing all the uniforms, gloves, bats, balls and other equipment needed for each team, Redbird Rookies also provides extensive off-field support in the areas of health, education, mentoring and the cultural arts for each of the nearly 4,500 kids who participate in the program each year.
