ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Sunday that the club has assigned defenseman Nathan Oystrick (Ol-strihk) to the Blues’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Peoria Rivermen.
Oystrick, 27, made his Blues debut on Oct. 30 vs. Atlanta and registered an assist in the Blues’ 4-3 shootout win. He has played in 10 games with the Rivermen this season, recording seven points (three goals, four assists) to go along with 16 penalty minutes. Oystrick spent the majority of the 2009-10 season with the Atlanta Thrashers’ AHL affiliate Chicago Wolves, collecting 23 points (seven goals, 16 assists) to go along with 96 penalty minutes. In his NHL career, the 6-0, 210-pound defenseman has played in 57 NHL games, earning 13 points (four goals, nine assists) and 52 penalty minutes.
The Regina, Saskatoon native was signed by the Blues as a free agent on July 12, 2010 and was originally drafted by Atlanta in the seventh round, 198th overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
