ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the team has acquired the rights to defenseman T.J. Fast from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for 5th round draft choice in 2009.
Fast, 20, played in 71 games this past season with the Tri-City Americans of Western Hockey League (WHL), registering 54 points (17 goals, 37 assists) along with 92 penalty minutes and a plus-29 rating. He ranked fifth on the club and first among team defenseman in goals, assists and points. The 6-1, 190-pound defenseman recorded nine points (one goal, eight assists) in 16 playoff games and helped lead Tri-City to the WHL’s Western Conference Finals.
The Calgary, Alberta native was originally drafted by the Kings as their second round selection, 60th overall in the 2005 Entry Draft..
