ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has acquired forward Olli Jokinen from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Joakim Lindstrom and a conditional 2016 sixth-round draft pick.
Jokinen, 36, has appeared in 48 games with Nashville and six games with Toronto this season, totaling seven points (three goals, four assists) and 28 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound forward is a veteran of 17 NHL seasons, including stints with Los Angeles, New York (Islanders and Rangers), Florida, Arizona, Calgary, Winnipeg, Nashville and Toronto. He ranks eighth among active players with 1,223 career regular season games played, while his 747 points (320 goals, 427 assists) are 20th amongst that group.
In addition, Jokinen has dressed in six career postseason games, recording five points (two goals, three assists).
The Kuopio, Finland, native was originally drafted by Los Angeles in the first round (third overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
