ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Saturday the club has acquired Evgeny Grachev from the New York Rangers in exchange for a third round draft choice in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft (Steven Fogarty).
Grachev, 21, made his National Hockey League (NHL) debut last season with Rangers, skating in eight games. He made his professional debut with the Rangers’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hartford Wolfpack in the 2009-10 season.
In two seasons in Hartford, the 6’4”, 224-pound forward played in 153 games, accumulating 66 points (28 goals, 38 assists) along with 38 penalty minutes.
The Khabarovsk, Russia native was originally drafted by the Rangers in the third round, 75th overall in the 2008 NHL Draft.
