With three straight losses, things might be starting to look somewhat bleak for the St. Louis Blues as they look to climb back into the Western Conference Playoff picture.
But goaltender Jordan Binnington - who has helped the club turn around its fortunes before - thinks its important to keep perspective.

"That's three losses in a row against opponents you want to beat," Binnington said Friday after the team dropped a 5-0 decision to the Arizona Coyotes to begin a three-game road trip against division opponents. "It's not how we want to go about it, it's not where we want to be. We've got to all look in the mirror here and find a way, find ourselves, find our character and find a way to win.
"It's a tough league, you can get left behind pretty fast and we know that. Just find a way."
Binnington's comments come as the Blues find themselves six points out of the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. The team climbed above .500 during a recent stretch of improved play but has faltered lately, losing consecutive games to the Chicago Blackhawks, Buffalo Sabres and Coyotes in the last week.
The Blues are chasing the Colorado Avalanche, who have two games in hand and currently hold the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The teams meet Saturday at Ball Arena in Denver.
"We've got to sort it out, man. We're missing a lot of guys (with injuries, but) we have to find a way," Binnington said. "We're all NHL players, and we're all capable of playing the right way and playing as a team. That's what we have to do.
"I think if you play together, play as a team, if you're a selfless player and you sacrifice and you're focused, I think any team can get the job done," he continued. "I think we have a good roster, so I do think it's possible. It just starts one day at a time, one game at a time, one period at a time, just playing hard."
