Alumni to Play in Charity Game Sunday

Blues Alumni will face-off with the ACHA Division II All-Stars on Sunday, March 17 at 6:45 p.m.

The game will be held at the Hardee’s IcePlex in Chesterfield, MO.

Tickets are available at the door for $10 each and include admission to the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division II National Championship tournament games held earlier in the day. Students wearing hockey jerseys with a valid ID can purchase a day pass for $5. Guests 12 and under also receive admission for $5.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Gateway Locomotives, a hockey program based in St. Louis for developmentally-challenged youth and young adults.

Bob Plager will coach the Blues Alumni team, which will feature Terry Yake, Jamie Rivers, Bruce Affleck, Mike Zuke, John Wensink, Larry Patey, Rick Zombo, Scott Mellanby, Todd Ewen, Reed Low, Jim Campbell and Bob Gassoff (son of former Blue Bob Gassoff). Participating Blues Alumni are subject to change.

The ACHA All-Star team will be comprised of players competing in the ACHA Division II National Championship tournament, which begins March 15 and concludes March 19 at the Hardee’s IcePlex. Fans wishing to attend any or all games of the tournament can purchase a tournament pass for $40 per person, which includes admission to Sunday’s charity game.

In addition, a silent auction will open Sunday at 3:30 p.m. and will feature an autographed Jaroslav Halak jersey, an autographed Brett Hull stick, an autographed T.J. Oshie puck and a signed Stan Musial baseball. The auction will close during the second intermission of the charity game. Proceeds benefit Gateway Locomotives and the St. Louis University Billikens hockey team.
