Allen Recalled; Porter Assigned to Wolves

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Saturday the club has recalled goaltender Jake Allen from the Blues’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.

In addition, the Blues have assigned forward Chris Porter to Chicago.

Allen, 23, has dressed in 23 games for Chicago this season, sharing fourth among all AHL goalies with 14 wins (14-7-2), while his 2.17 goals-against average ranks sixth and his .922 save percentage is 11th best.

The Fredericton, New Brunswick native was originally drafted by the Blues in the second round, 34th overall, of the 2008 Entry Draft.

Porter, 29, has dressed in 19 games for Chicago this season, posting 11 points (three goals, eight assists) and 25 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 209-pound forward has also appeared in 10 games with the Blues, recording one assist.

The Toronto, Ontario native was originally signed by the Blues as a free agent on Aug. 21, 2007.
