USA Hockey announced Tuesday that T.J. Oshie, David Backes and Erik Johnson have been invited to the USA Hockey Men’s Olympic Orientation Camp.

The camp runs from August 17-19 and will be held at Seven Bridges Ice Arena in Woodridge, Illinois.

All three players will be evaluated on-ice and have a chance to be invited to play for the 2010 U.S. Men’s Ice Hockey Team at the upcoming Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Maple Leafs head coach Ron Wilson will coach the U.S. team. The Rangers’ John Tortorella and Islanders’ Scott Gordon will serve as assistant coaches.

Oshie, 22, played in 57 games with the Blues during the 2008-09 season. He registered 14 goals and 25 assists and finished with a plus-16 rating. He was selected as the NHL Rookie of the Month for March, recording 13 points in 14 games. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 10 vs. Nashville. Oshie was selected by the Blues as a first round choice, 24th overall, at the 2005 NHL Draft.

Backes, 25, played in all 82 games for the Blues last season, setting a career high in goals with 31. He recorded 165 penalty minutes and finished with a -3 rating. He turned in one of the top single-game performances by an NHL player all season when he notched four goals in a 5-4 victory on Apr. 2 vs. Detroit. The Minneapolis, MN native was selected with the Blues’ second round choice (62nd overall) in the 2003 NHL Draft.

Johnson, 21, put together a fine rookie season during the 2007-08 campaign, recording 5 goals and 28 assists in 69 games. Johnson suffered a knee injury last summer and missed the entire 2008-09 season but has been skating and should be healthy enough for action.
