Blue Jackets continue tough stretch of six games in nine nights at Nationwide tonight as they host the Dallas Stars. One of the two teams they are currently tied with at 61 points. Yes, it's a four pointer but with a victory the Jackets claim sole possession of fith place!!
The three previous games with the Stars have all been wild affairs, of course the Stars in the last visit here, a little over two weeks ago, beat the Blue Jackets 7-2 and lead the season series 2-1-0. Coach Hitchcock addressing the media after today's morning skate said that he is looking for a similar performance to last Friday's effort against the Red Wings at Nationwide in tonight's game and Wednesday's affair against St. Louis.
Also, a win tonight would extend the Blue Jackets winning streak to five games, their longest since 2006. Steve Mason goes again for the CBJ, and it was the last time in for Dallas that the 20-year-old was victimized for three goals early and was pulled. After the game, we learned that he had mono. He is ready tonight and he will face Marty Turco, who will make his 27th straight start for the stars.
Dorsett goes in for Modin, who is out a week perhaps a bit more and that's disappointing because his leadership on and off the ice will be missed.
Hope to see you, the Jackets seventh man - at Nationwide Tonight.
