Dec. 2-5, 2006 – Fredrik Norrena became the second goaltender in franchise history to record back-to-back shutouts – and the first to post two-straight on the road – when he made 21 saves to beat the Edmonton Oilers, 4-0, on Dec. 2 and 42 saves to beat the Colorado Avalanche, 3-0, on Dec. 5. The win over the Avalanche was Columbus’ first in 11 games at the Pepsi Center.

Nov. 22 – at COLUMBUS 2, at NASHVILLE 0: Steve Mason made 27 saves to record his first shutout of the season and the Jackets got goals from Mike Commodore and Rick Nash to win the first meeting of the season with their Central Division rivals … Nov. 24 – COLUMBUS 4, at NY ISLANDERS 3 (OT): Jakub Voracek's goal at 2:31 of overtime lifted the Blue Jackets to the come-from-behind win. After leading 2-1 at the end of one period on goals by Antoine Vermette and Chris Clark, the Jackets fell behind 3-2 before R.J. Umberger netted the equalizer at 6:46 of the second period… Nov. 26 – DETROIT 2, at COLUMBUS 1: Jimmy Howard (34 saves) outdueled Steve Mason (30 saves) and the Red Wings went 1-of-3 on the power play while holding the Jackets to 0-of-5. Antoine Vermette scored the lone Jackets goal in the third period… Nov. 28 – at DETROIT 4, COLUMBUS 2: Detroit overcame an early 1-0 Columbus lead on a Derick Brassard goal to score twice in a span of 14 seconds midway through the second period. Trailing 3-1, R.J. Umberger's power play goal at 18:29 of the third pulled the Jackets within 3-2 before Dan Cleary's empty net tally sealed the win.

The Blue Jackets became the final team in the NHL to drop consecutive games with a pair of losses to Detroit last weekend in games No. 21 and 22… Columbus ranks fourth in the NHL in goals-against average, allowing 2.41 per game (Montreal, 1.96)… The Jackets rank seventh in penalty killing at 85.2 pct. (Pittsburgh, 90.2 pct.) and have killed off 28-of-31 (90.3 pct.) over the last nine games… The club ranks 15th in the NHL in scoring, averaging 2.77 goals per game (Colorado, 3.52), and has scored 30 goals in the past nine games (3.33 per game).
UMBERGER SET ONE CLUB RECORD, EYES ANOTHER
LW R.J. Umberger set a franchise record with assists in eight-straight games (2-8-10) from Nov. 10-26. That streak was snapped at Detroit on Nov. 28 but his goal vs. the Red Wings extended his point streak to nine games (3-8-11), which is tied for the club record set three times previously (Rick Nash, 10-3-13 from Oct. 30-Nov. 22, 2010 and 9-7-16 from Dec. 30, 2005-Jan. 8, 2006; Andrew Cassels, 4-9-13 from Nov. 1-17, 2002). The streak is the longest of Umberger's career (previous best was six games from Mar. 23-Apr.1, 2010 (2-5-7). He has now tallied 8-9-17 in 22 games and is tops among club forwards at +8.
MASON ON TOP OF HIS GAME
G Steve Mason has gone 3-2-0 with a 2.21 goals-against average, .941 save percentage and one shutout in his last five games, stopping 175-of-186 shots faced. He made 27 saves to record his first shutout of the season on Nov. 22 vs. Nashville. He has now gone 8-7-0 with a 2.28 GAA, .913 SV% and 1 SO in 15 games this season.
BRASSARD CONTINUES TO FIND THE SCORE SHEET
C Derick Brassard has notched 6-11-17 while picking up a point in 14 of the last 16 games since opening the season with 0-1-1 in his first six outings of the season. He picked up assists in five-straight games from Nov. 17-24 and after being shutout vs. Detroit on Nov. 26, he bounced back to score his sixth goal of the season at Detroit on Nov. 28. He has regained the club scoring lead with 6-12-18 in 22 games and he leads the club with three power play goals and is tied for second with two game-winning goals.
LW Rick Nash is five assists shy of club record of 204 held by David Vyborny and is five games shy of Vyborny's club record of 543 career games played as a Blue Jacket… C Antoine Vermette is riding a three-game point streak (2-1-3)… D Rostislav Klesla ranks second NHL in at +16… RW Jakub Voracek has 5-7-12 in his last 12 games, including his first career OT goal at NY Islanders on Nov. 24… G Mathieu Garon made 21 saves in a 4-3 OT win at NY Islanders on Nov. 24 to improve to 6-1-0 with a 1.33 GAA, .950 SV% and three SO in eight games this season… RW Jared Boll has picked up 2-3-5 in his last 12 games after notching 1-2-3 in his previous 52 outings.

NASH, UMBERGER ON NHL ALL-STAR BALLOT
LW Rick Nash and LW R.J. Umberger are among the 100 players who appear on the 2011 NHL All-Star Fan Balloting, which takes place Nov. 15-Jan. 3 at NHL.com and Facebook.com/NHL. Fans can select up to six players by position -- three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender -- without regard to the conference in which their teams play for in the 2011 NHL All-Star Game presented by Discover, which will be held at RBC Center in Raleigh, N.C. on Sunday, Jan. 30.
