The Blue Jackets embark on their longest road trip of the season this week as the club will play five games after leaving Columbus Wednesday and returning Thanksgiving night. The trip begins with Western Conference stops in Dallas on Thursday and Nashville on Saturday. Next week, the Jackets play a trio of Eastern Conference opponents, visiting the New York Rangers on Nov. 23, Montreal Canadiens on Nov. 24 and Ottawa Senators on Thanksgiving night. Columbus has posted a 5-4-0 road record this season and are 17-12-4 in their last 33 road contests dating back to Dec. 29, 2008.

After playing 11-straight games decided in regulation to start the season, Columbus has gone to overtime or the shootout in four of its last seven outings, including three-straight from Oct. 30-Nov. 4. The Blue Jackets won the lone contest decided in overtime – 5-4 at Washington on Nov. 1 – and have gone 1-2 in shootouts. After dropping its first two shootouts – 4-3 vs. Pittsburgh on Oct. 30 and 3-2 vs. San Jose on Nov. 4, the Jackets earned their first shootout win of the season with a 3-2 decision over Anaheim on Nov. 13. Columbus owns a 56-53-33 all-time record in games decided by OT/SO, including a 23-25 mark in shootouts.

RW Rick Nash picked up a goal in both games last week to raise his season scoring totals to 13-11-24 in 18 games and enters the week tied for fourth in the NHL in goals (Ovechkin/WSH, Heatley/SJ and Kopitar/LA – 14) and tied for third in points (Kopitar – 31, Gaborik/NYR – 25). He has registered a point in 14-of-18 games with seven multi-point outings and has racked up 7-2-9 in his last seven games with goals in three-straight. He continues to be the only player in the NHL who has scored two or more power play (2), shorthanded (2) and game-winning (2) goals this season.

G Mathieu Garon is 3-1-0 with a 2.60 goals-against average, .923 save percentage and one shutout in seven games this season. He made 32 saves and stopped both Anaheim shootout attempts in a 3-2 win over the Ducks on Nov. 13. In his previous start, he stopped 32-of-35 shots to earn a 4-3 win at Atlanta on Nov. 5 which raised his career record to 27-7-2 in games in which he faces 35 or more shots. He has won 10 consecutive such games dating back to February 2008.

The Blue Jackets are 6-0-2 in one-goal games and 3-1-0 in games decided by two goals… By contrast, the Jackets are 1-5-0 in games decided by three or more goals… Six of the club's last seven games have been decided by one goal (4-0-2) with the exception being the 9-1 loss vs. Detroit on Nov. 11, which matched the worst loss in franchise history… Columbus is 3-3-0 when outshooting the opposition, 1-1-1 when shots are tied and 6-2-1 when being outshot… LW Kristian Huselius recorded his third multi-point game of the season, and first since Oct. 22 at Edmonton, with 1-1-2 vs. Anaheim on Nov. 13 in his first game after missing four due to injury… C Antoine Vermette has tallied 10-17-27 in 35 games as a Blue Jacket, including 0-2-2 vs. Anaheim on Nov. 13, to snap a five-game point drought… D Anton Stralman has collected 0-5-5 in his last six games… D Marc Methot leads the club with 36 hits… D Rostislav Klesla leads the club with 35 blocked shots.
