D Radek Martinek (head, Oct. 21 at Detroit; injured reserve) will miss at least one week… LW Kristian Huselius (torn pectoral muscle, surgery on July 14; injured reserve) is expected to miss four to six months… Games Missed Due to Injury: 89.

NOV. 10 – Blackhawks 6, at BLUE JACKETS 3:
Chicago broke open a close game with three second period goals, including a pair on the power play, to earn the win. Jonathan Toews tallied 2-1-3, including a goal late at 17:09 of the first period that was the first of five-straight by Chicago, to lead the Hawks. Grant Clitsome scored two goals and Vinny Prospal and Fedor Tyutin each collected two assists to lead Columbus… NOV. 12 – at BLUE JACKETS 2, Jets 1: Rookie Ryan Johansen scored two goals and Steve Mason made 35 saves to lead the Blue Jackets to the win. Johansen gave the Jackets a 1-0 lead just 53 seconds into the game and tallied the eventual game-winner at 4:06 of the third as the Jets cut the lead to 2-1 with a Mark Stuart shorthanded goal at the 16:15 mark. Ondrej Pavelec made 25 saves for Winnipeg and both teams were perfect on the penalty kill (Columbus: 4-of-4, Winnipeg: 5-of-5).

The Blue Jackets have killed off 24-of-29 opponent power plays (82.8 pct.) over the past eight games compared to 18-of-28 (64.3 pct.) in its first eight games, while the power play unit has connected on 8-of-54 (14.8 pct.) over the past 12 games after starting the season 0-of-20… Columbus has gone 3-2-0 in its last five home games after starting the season 0-3-1 at Nationwide Arena… This week begins a stretch that has the Blue Jackets playing seven of their next 11 games on the road between Nov. 15 and Dec. 6… Columbus ranks 12th-T in the NHL in face-off percentage (51.0 pct.).


KID CLUTCH: C/RW Ryan Johansen has tallied 5-2-7 in his last nine games after being held without a point in his first four NHL games. The club’s first pick, fourth overall, in the 2010 Entry Draft, he has also scored a team-leading three game-winning goals, which is tied for third in the NHL (4 – Johan Franzen, Vinny Lecavalier), and is the first player to score his club’s first three game-winners in a season since Philadelphia’s Brian Propp in 1982-83 (*courtesy of Elias Sports Bureau*). He is tied for the club lead in goals, ranks second in plus/minus rating (+2) and is tied for fourth in points.

NASH HITS 500-POINT MARK: RW Rick Nash became the first player to appear in 600 games as a Blue Jacket at Ottawa on Oct. 22 and fired off his 2,000th career shot at Buffalo on Oct. 27 and with an assist on Mark Letestu’s goal on Nov. 10 vs. Chicago became the first player to register 500 points as a Blue Jacket. With 4-8-12 in 16 games this season, he has now tallied 263-237-500 in 608 career games. The next closest player on the Blue Jackets career points list is David Vyborny (2000-08) with 317.

NEWCOMERS MAKE AN IMPACT: C Mark Letestu, acquired from Pittsburgh on Nov. 8, scored a goal in his debut with the club on Nov. 10 vs. Chicago and was +2 on Nov. 12 vs. Winnipeg. He also won 20-of-32 face-offs (62.5 pct.) in those games and now ranks 10th in the NHL in that category at 56.7 pct. (93-of-164)… D Nikita Nikitin, acquired from St. Louis on Nov. 11, picked up an assist on Ryan Johansen’s game-winning goal, logged a career-high 24:57 of ice time, had two hits, two blocked shots and was +1 in his CBJ debut vs. Winnipeg on Nov. 12.


VERMETTE STREAKS ON, EYES 300TH CAREER POINT: C Antoine Vermette enters the week three points shy of 300 in his NHL career with 133-163-297 in 555 career games. He has also played in 197-straight games since joining the Blue Jackets on Mar. 7, 2009, which marks the third-longest streak in franchise history. R.J. Umberger’s current streak of 262-straight is the longest, while Jason Chimera’s 243 consecutive games from Oct. 9, 2005 to Apr. 5, 2008 ranks second.

D Grant Clitsome registered the first multi-goal game of his NHL career with two vs. Chicago on Nov. 10 and leads all CBJ defensemen in scoring with 3-5-8 in 15 games… C Derek MacKenzie leads the club in plus/minus rating at +4 and has been even or plus in 15-of-16 games this season (Nov. 3 vs. Toronto, -2)… C Vinny Prospal has assists in three-straight games (0-4-4) and continues to lead the club in scoring with 5-9-14 in 16 outings… RW Jared Boll made his season debut vs. Chicago on Nov. 10 after missing the first 14 games of the season due to injury and has collected seven penalty minutes in two games.

Blue Jackets forwards Jeff Carter, Rick Nash and R.J. Umberger are among the players that appear on the 2012 NHL All-Star Fan Balloting™. The Blue Jackets, FOX Sports Ohio and Columbia Gas have teamed up to offer the Florida Fly Away Giveaway, a contest where fans have a chance to win a player autographed puck and a trip for two to Florida. Blue Jackets hockey returns to FOX Sports Ohio in 2011-12 with 79 live telecasts in high definition.
