LW Raffi Torres (Sept. 29 vs. Chicago, preseason) will be sidelined approximately six weeks… G Pascal Leclaire (Oct. 25 at Minnesota; Injured Reserve on Oct. 27) is expected to miss at least one week… LW Fredrik Modin (Injured Reserve, Oct. 21) is day-to-day… Man Games Lost to Injury: 23.
The Kids Are Alright – RW Jakub Voracek and C Derick Brassard are currently tied for second among NHL rookies in scoring with six points. The 19-year-old Voracek has tallied 3-3-6 with 10 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in eight games, while 21-year-old Brassard has collected 2-4-6 with two penalty minutes and is even in eight games. Chicago's Kris Versteeg leads all rookies with 2-6-8 in eight games, while Dallas' Fabian Brunnstrom has 5-1-6 in seven outings.
The line of LW Jason Chimera-Brassard-Voracek has combined for 8-10-18 in the club's first eight games and one of the three picked up a point in seven-straight games prior to the trio being shutout at Minnesota on Oct. 25… Chimera has 3-3-6 in eight games and team-leading +3 plus/minus rating… RW Derek Dorsett scored the first goal of his NHL career, the game-winner, vs. Vancouver on Oct. 21 to become the fourth Blue Jackets to record his first career goal this season (Voracek, Nikita Filatov, Marc Methot)… LW Rick Nash continues to lead the club in goals (five), game-winning goals (two) and shots (34) with his shots total standing eighth in the NHL… D Rostislav Klesla scored his first goal of the season at Minnesota on Oct. 25… D Jan Hejda leads the club in hits with 22 and blocked shots with 20, which is tied for 10th in the NHL.
The Blue Jackets have successfully killed off 23 of the last 25 opponent power plays (92.0 percent) and are currently tied for ninth in the NHL in penalty killing at 85.4 percent (35-of-41)… Columbus ranks 13th in the NHL on the power play at 18.2 percent (6-of-33)… After scoring 20 goals in their first six games (3.33), the Jackets have scored just one goal in each of the past two games… With a win vs. Anaheim on Monday, the Jackets could match the best home start in club history at 3-1-0 (2003-04)… The best five-game mark is 3-1-1 set last year… Through the first eight games, Columbus has had more power play attempts than its opponents one time – Oct. 14 at San Jose (CBJ-2-of-6, SJ-1-of-2).

Tuesday, Oct. 28 – G Pascal Leclaire and D Rostislav Klesla at the Cheryl & Co store at Easton Town Center from 6 to 7 p.m. Pascal and Rostislav will be signing commemorative Blue Jackets cookie tins at the store for all fans who buy a tin that night. The Blue Jackets Foundation and Cheryl & Co. have teamed up to develop a complete Blue Jackets gift collection with the GOAL of giving back. Proceeds from all Blue Jackets branded products will be donated to the Blue Jackets Foundation in support of its mission to fight pediatric cancer, support education, keep Central Ohio youth safe and healthy and help break the barrier of entry for youth into the sport of hockey.
