UPDATE: Scrimmage Format

by Rob Mixer / Columbus Blue Jackets

Today’s on-ice session for the last day of Development Camp has been slightly altered due to a few
minor injuries that have limited the number of on-ice participants. Sitting certain players is more
precautionary than anything, but has changed the format from a normal 5-on-5 scrimmage to a series of
3-on-3 scrimmages.

Players have been separated into two teams – Blue Team and White Team. For scoring purposes, the
Blue Team will serve as the “home” team, while the White Team will serve as the “visitors.”

The two teams will compete in four different 3-on-3 scrimmages. Each scrimmage will last 10 minutes
(pending score) and will have a different variation. One of the variations will require fans sitting in the
middle sections of the OhioHealth Ice Haus to temporarily vacate their seats for safety issues (game will
be played going the short side of the ice, inside the blue lines).

Following the four scrimmages, the teams will then compete in a power play game, followed by two
relay races (one with a puck, one with the net) and will conclude with a shootout competition (time

Each scrimmage and event will see the losing team do some form of a hard skate for the loss.
