Blue Jackets President and General Manager Doug MacLean and Executive Vice-President and Assistant General Manager Jim Clark, along with Head Coach Gerard Gallant, Associate Coach Dean Blais, Assistant Coach Gord Murphy, Goaltending Coach Rick Wamsley and the club's scouting staff, will welcome 62 players on the first day of camp.
The first four days of camp will consist of all players being divided into three teams - Teams Red, White & Blue - with each day featuring one team on the ice for a practice session and the other two on the ice for a scrimmage. All three teams will also take part in off-ice workouts immediately following their on-ice sessions. Following Tuesday's afternoon and evening sessions, which will take place between 4-8:30 p.m., one team will practice and workout from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. with the other two squads scrimmaging and then working out from 11:15 a.m.-1:45 p.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday at the Ice Haus. On Friday, an 8:30-10 a.m. practice will be held at Nationwide Arena and a 9-10:30 a.m. scrimmage will take place in the Ice Haus. The first day of camp will feature a practice session from 4 to 5:30 p.m., followed by a scrimmage at 6 p.m. which is free and open to the public. Doors at Nationwide Arena will open at 5:30 p.m. In addition, the Blue Jackets and OhioHealth are teaming up with the American Red Cross for a blood drive at Nationwide Arena (inside the Front St. doors) from 3-9 p.m. that day.
