Here is a picture of my training partner Piper, she is a 18-month old flat-coated retriever.
This past weekend, I went to the Memorial Cup, but stayed at my home town of Kamsack, Saskatchewan and commuted into Brandon, Manitoba to watch the games. It's about a two hour drive. Training has been good and reminds me of the days when I had to get ready for training camp.
Yesterday was a long day, I had a 10 mile run. It's been extremely hot here, around 85 degrees, which is not common at this time of the year. So it was a pretty hard day - hot and dry. Then the wind picked up and naturally, it was a straight head wind. But I managed to get through it, going for a long slow ride this evening. It's kind of a down day for today.
I travel Sunday to the NHL combines for the week and have an extremely hard training week coming up, that I have to get in at least 18 hours. I have to start putting more hours in the pool, which is obviously my favorite thing to do! I can't stand the swim.
I will check back in later in the month to update you again. Thanks for reading my blog and for the donations. Continue to spread the word!
