St. Patrick's Day Jerseys

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, OHIO - In recognition of St. Patrick's Day, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation will host a special auction featuring a full team set of authentic, green practice jerseys adorned with a Shamrock patch and Irish-themed nameplates unique to each player. The players will wear the individually customized jerseys on Tuesday, Mar. 2 during pre-game warm-ups preceding the contest with the Vancouver Canucks. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the team's charitable foundation. Last year's jersey auction raised more than $17,000 for the cause.

Fans may bid on individual practice-worn jerseys at the Blue Jackets Foundation table located behind section 111 during the home games on Tuesday, Mar. 2 vs. Vancouver; Thursday, Mar. 11 vs. Atlanta; Saturday, Mar. 13 vs. St. Louis; and Monday, Mar. 15 vs. Edmonton. All jerseys will have a starting bid of $150 with bids being accepted through the end of the second intermission of the Mar. 15 game.

Player nameplates will read: O'Boll – 40; O'Brassard – 16; O'Clark – 11; McCommodore – 22; O'Dorsett – 15; O'Garon – 32; O'Hejda – 8; McHuselius – 20; McJurcina – 23; O'Klesla – 97; McMason – 1; McMethot – 3; McModin – 33; McMurray – 17; McNash – 61; O'Russell – 10; McPahlsson – 26; O'Stralman – 6; McTorres – 14; McTyutin – 51; McUmberger – 18; O'Vermette – 50; McVoracek – 93.

Highlighting the set this year is a #3 McSalmons jersey in honor of Ryan Salmons, a pediatric cancer patient who signed a one-day contract with the Blue Jackets at the end of last season and passed away last May.

The Blue Jackets Foundation was founded in March 2000 and has since donated nearly $3 million to local non-profit organizations dedicated to one or more of its main pillars of giving: pediatric cancer, education, children's health and safety and the development of youth and amateur hockey.
