COLUMBUS, OH -The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Scott Harrington from his conditioning assignment from the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Harrington, 23, recorded four shots and was +1 in two games as the Monsters swept their season opening series on Friday and Saturday vs. the Rockford IceHogs. He has tallied 8-31-39, 89 penalty minutes and is +33 in 143 career AHL games with the Monsters, Toronto Marlies and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He has notched an assist and eight penalty minutes in 25 career NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins. Originally the Penguins' second round pick, 54th overall, in the 2011 NHL Draft, the Kingston, Ontario native was acquired by the Blue Jackets in a trade from the Maple Leafs on June 25, 2016.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Friday, October 21 when they host the Chicago Blackhawks.
