Same Lineup ... Same Result?

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

December 1

Same lineup tonight at Nationwide Arena as the Blue Jackets host the Vancouver Canucks at 7 p.m.

Why would coach Ken Hitchcock make any changes?

The Jackets played one of their best, complete 60 minute, total team efforts Saturday night in beating the Alexander Ovechkin's with a 3-0 shutout win!

Steve Mason, now 5-2-1, with a .919 save percentage and a 2.09 goals against average with two shutouts, again gets the nod in goal and coach Hitchcock told the media gathering after the morning skate that Mason's play has not been a surprise but a necessity based on the way things have gone with the other netminders... Pascal Leclaire's injuries and Freddie Norrena's less than stellar play.

Personally, with arguably the game's number one goalie in the building - Roberto Luongo - but injured, I will have the good fortune of talking to the Vancouver Canucks captain during our second intermission on Fox Sports Ohio. I plan to ask for his thought's on Mason...

Hope to see you at the Arena... excellent seats remain for the game... if not we will have it for you on Fox Sports Ohio beginning with "Blue Jackets Live" at 6:30 p.m.
