Rimer's Game Day Ramblings - Oct. 30

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

October 30

The Blue Jackets put a couple of three game winning streaks on the line out here in Denver tonight. The Jackets with three straight wins overall and five victories in their last six starts are also unbeaten on the road with three straight wins to start the season. Steve Mason will get the start tonight and he will face Colorado's Peter Budaj, with last season's Avalanche MVP Craig Anderson on the shelf with a knee injury.

No changes to the Jackets lineup with Jan Hejda, Kristian Huselius and Ethan Moreau all back in Columbus, while Andrew Murray and Mike Commodore are with the team here in the foothills of the Rockies but not yet ready to return to action.

Talking with coach Scott Arniel after the morning skate, he hopes tonight's game is NOT a wide open affair and adds, "We need to get back to a smart game, get after them and make them defend."

Meantime Joe Sacco, the Avs head coach, was not at the Pepsi Center this morning because he is ill, and the Avalanche right now do not know if he will be well enough to be behind the teams bench tonight.

Game time tonight is a 9 p.m. EST puck drop with Blue Jackets LIVE getting underway at 8:30 p.m. The game on FOX Sports Ohio is in HD.
