Rimer's Game Day Ramblings - Oct. 25

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

October 25

Jared Boll returns to the Blue Jackets lineup tonight at Nationwide against the Eastern Conference champion Philadelphia Flyers. Boll, bothered by back issues for much of training camp and the early season, was removed from injured reserve this morning. He is anxious to get back in the lineup and returns at a favorable time, what with the physical Flyers in town for a rare visit. Head Coach Scott Arniel is pleased to have Boll back tonight saying his right winger is a good addition to his hockey club with a big team like the Flyers as the opposition. Arniel added, "he will keep the Philadelphia defense on their toes with his physical play."

While the news is good as far as Boll is concerned you can't say the same for Kristian Huselius. Huselius is unlikely to dress tonight after blocking a shot off the foot Saturday in Chicago.

As for the "Jekyll and Hyde" Blue Jackets... Arniel says, "we have to compete at home like we do on the road and we have to find consistency in our game."

Mathieu Garon makes his second start of the season against Philadelphia. This guy, according to his coach, is the epitome of a great pro. He has had a great camp, has worked exceptionally hard in practice to stay sharp, knows his role, has a great relationship with Steve Mason and I have seen it first hand, the day Mason signed his extension Garon was genuinely excited for him.

Brian Boucher, who recorded the win for the Flyers Saturday over the Maple Leafs, is expected to start for Philadelphia.

Tonight's game in HD and begins at 7 p.m. Blue Jackets LIVE with Ray Crawford kicking things off from Nationwide at 6:30 p.m. on FOX Sports Ohio.
